2012 China-Korea Economic Leaders Dialogue Held Successfully in Seoul
2012中韩经济领袖对话在韩国首尔成功举办
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Korea, the “China-Korea Economic Leader’s Dialogue” was successfully hosted by the International Economic Club of China on 21stFebruary 2012 in Seoul and co-organized by China-Japan-Korean Economic Development Association.
为纪念中韩建交二十周年，由中国国际经济会主办，外交部中日韩经济发展协会协办的“中韩经济领袖对话”于2012年2月21日在韩国首尔成功举行。

Mr. Joseph Yam, Former Chief Executive of Hong Kong Monetary Authority, addressed the “2010 Asian Stars” conference in Singapore on 19th May 2010. Mr. Yam reviewed the history of RMB appreciation since 2006 and presented his views on the current and long term RMB exchange rate forecasts. Mr. Yam also expressed his views on the recent Euro Dollar crisis.

Minister Dai Xiang Long,Chairman of National Council of Social Security Fund, Former Governor of China People’s Bank, Major of Tian Jin City addressed The International Economic Club of China "Leadership Gala Dinner Meeting" on three key areas of interest for businesses and investors in China, on Friday 2nd April 2010 at the Shangri-la Pudong in Shanghai. The 40 minute keynote speech presented Minister Dai's thoughts on "The road leading to the rise of China’s financial sector, the globalization of the RMB, and the prospect and forecast of Shanghai as an international financial center". Mr. Tu Guang Shao, Vice Major of Shanghai and Mr. Bill Zheng, President of the Club also gave their remarks at the opening of the Gala Meeting.

China's Foremost Diplomat, former China Ambassador to France, and Former President of China University of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Wu Jian Min attended The International Economic Club's Private Dinner Function on the 29th March 2010 at the Peninsula Hotel, Shanghai.
Ambassador Wu spoke with invited guests for his personal view on a one “Asian Dollar”, the upcoming Shanghai Expo, and Western/Eastern cultural issues. The dinner was attended by Ms. Isabelle Fernandez, Economic Counselor China, Consulate General of France in Shanghai, Mr. David Wang, Chairman of SPG land, (developer of Peninsula Shanghai), Mr. Alan WAY, Head of Business Unit, Louis XIII de Remy Cointreau Group, China, Remy Cointreau Group, Ms Julia Zhang, Jiangsu Milestone Investment, and the executive team from ECC, Eric Yuan, Chief Executive, Christina Yan, Deputy Chief Executive and Ivan Zhao, Deputy Executive Director.
The dinner function was supported by Peninsula Hotel Shanghai.

The Right Honourable Jenny Shipley, Former Prime Minister of New Zealand, was the Keynote Speaker for the first ECC Club Leadership Luncheon Meeting on May 27, 2009, in Shanghai.
Ms Shipley gave a very thought provoking speech on the topic “China; A dynamic Global Leader Going Forward” to an audience of distinguished guests, invited guests, and club members. Ms Shipley spoke for more than one hour on China’s development and position on the world stage, from her view as a former Prime Minister and a current Independent Director of China Construction Bank, and afterwards Ms Shipley took two questions which she answered fully, and honestly, over a 20 minute period, much to the appreciation of the audience. Mr. Michael Swain, New Zealand Consul-General, and Mr. Dene Yeaman, Australian Deputy Consul General, attended as guests of honour along with many other prominent business leaders including Mr. William Tung, Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Rockefeller Group, and Mr. Feng Gao, Managing Director, Head of Global Markets China, Deutsche Bank.
